Loughborough University London is a member of Techne: a consortium of nine universities in London and the South-East that form an AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership who award studentships each year across a range of arts and humanities disciplines. Techne supports outstanding students in the pursuit of research through innovative, interdisciplinary, and creative approaches.
The Institute for Media and Creative Industries (IMCI) invites doctoral research proposals that fit with IMCI’s research themes, that links to one or more of our current research projects, and that aligns with the research of one or more of our academic staff.
Our research interests range from communication for social change, politics and economy of media and creative industries, digital media in everyday life, as well as activism in contemporary and historical contexts. Much of our research is collaborative and interdisciplinary, connecting to local and global communities and organisations.
