Reporting to a Global Head of Airfreight, you are responsible for overseeing and ensuring effective operations of a global network of Import/Export Gateways, as well as establishing Global Gateway Policy, managing tactical procurement , establishing a cost-effective structure and generating a monthly balanced scorecard to drive GP improvement, cost management and service improvements. It goes without saying that we value diversity: we thrive on the diversity of our talent in all its forms, and we see it as a strength in building high-performance teams across brands, cultures, and locations.Besides focusing on creating value for our customers and the business, a key priority for us is to drive personal and professional development for our people to prepare for further career progression.Flexibility: Work location can be flexibleKey ResponsibilitiesEnsure process and staffing standardization across all Gateway OperationsCreate Balanced Scorecard for each operation and align key measurables to be reported on a monthly basis – establish improvement goals for each criteria – by GatewaySet GP improvement goals through optimizing the building of large effective consolidations and relentless tactical procurementEnsure operational alignment among global gatewaysCreate Global Gateway Policy – mandatory use unless approved exceptions (DG, Express etc) Measure to ensure complianceOptimize volume flows objective of achieving best possible lowest net achieved costs and respective promised transit timesExecute, design and optimize road feeder structure to feed and de-feed stations to Gateway (Import/Export)Coordinate/measure with countries to ensure gateway routing discipline and that routing guides is adhered toEstablish new consol destination as requiredEnsure compliance to all regulatory requirements – CFS / ScreeningStrong inclusion in RFQ pricing processMaintain / Develop relationships with Global Third Party AgentsSupport the Airfreight Growth within our agency network though education, pricing and sales supportCreate the needed measurements to assess growth in agent business and GP within the Maersk NetworkEstablish GP/Tonnage Growth targets for top 10 agents – with ongoing monthly measurements.Assess 3rd party Agent financial and operational performanceActively participate in carrier data driven performance reviewsResponsible and ensure effective CW implementation and ongoing process managementOwnership of the ISO9001-2015 standard as pertains to gateways effectiveness.What we look forA Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is requiredAt least 15 years of experience in positions of increasingly responsibility airfreight industryProven track record with air carriers in the marketAbility to work within a team and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders in a professional mannerAbility to manage workload independently and with attention to deadlinesMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
