Your role
The Procurement Category Manager is responsible to define and implement Procurement activities around a strategic category.
- Develops and implements a global Strategic Sourcing plan across a broad set of categories to ensure portfolio turnover and spend review.
- Develops business relationships at multiple levels within key supplier accounts to manage performance, quality improvement, productivity, and service level.
- Effectively negotiates key commercial and supply positions for designated raw materials to the benefit of Symrise business requirements and goals. Identifies and negotiates global supply agreements where appropriate.
- Identifies, develops, and implements global and regional sourcing strategies to reduce costs, mitigate headwinds, and improve security of supply.
- Develops and communicates sourcing strategy for approved alternate suppliers to achieve
- maximum value at both regional and global level.
- Animate network around the world to ensure regional implementation and local execution.
- Effectively communicates strategies, results, and metrics to leadership teams as required.
- Stays abreast of industry trends for assigned categories. Provides guidance and recommendations to business units in order to support margin and top line growth.
- Escalates and engages appropriate supplier business leaders to address supply disruptions and constraints (Resilience Process)
- Develops, aligns, and drives strategic projects to improve procurement processes, tools, and efficiencies.
- Implements Procurement infrastructure in conjunction with functions and supply chain to assure availability at required quality & costs levels.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemistry, Food Engineering…) or Business
- 5-8 years of experience in procurement at international level
- English business fluent mandatory, French and/or German and advantage
