Global Safety Lead, Global Medical Safety

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people living with brain disorders? At Lundbeck, we’re driven by a clear purpose: to improve brain health. As a Safety Lead in our Global Medical Safety team, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding patients while contributing to the development of innovative treatments.

Join a mid-sized, agile company where your work truly matters – and where no two days are the same. You’ll collaborate across functions, tackle diverse challenges, and be part of a passionate team committed to advancing science and patient care.

If this sounds like the kind of impact you want to make, we’d love to hear from you!

Your new role

As Global Safety Lead you will be strategically managing safety surveillance and risk minimisation activities for an assigned compound/product(s). You will be responsible for setting the direction for safety evidence generation and risk minimisation, for planning and interpretation of safety data analyses, benefit-risk assessments, and delivery of high-quality medical–scientific input to internal and external decision-making forums.

This is a dynamic and highly visible role spanning early clinical development through post-launch evidence generation. You will operate both independently and in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, contributing to key development, regulatory, and governance decisions. Success in the role requires building strong networks across R&D, maintaining up-to-date scientific knowledge in neuroscience and patient safety, and consistently applying the highest standards of quality, ethics, and scientific rigor.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

-Chair and lead scientific discussions within multidisciplinary Safety Committees (SCs);
-Drive holistic safety evidence generation strategies aligned with Integrated Evidence Plans (IEPs), Clinical Development Plans (CDPs), and Risk Management Plans (RMPs) to enable robust safety profile characterization and differentiation;
-Develop and implement strategies for proactive safety monitoring and risk-minimization throughout the product lifecycle;
-In collaboration with the project statistician and SC members, define and oversee program-level safety data analysis strategies to support internal and external decision-making related to safety signals and benefit–risk assessments;
-Set the strategy for safety data analysis and communication in the context of marketing authorization applications, aggregate safety reports, briefing packages, and responses to inquiries from health authorities and other external stakeholders;
-Be accountable for the scientific interpretation of safety data and for drawing medically and scientifically sound conclusions, including signal detection and evaluation based on data from clinical trials and other data sources.

Your future team

You’ll be joining Global Medical Safety, a key part of Global Patient Safety, based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Copenhagen. Our team of around 40 dedicated Safety Leads and Safety Scientists is spread across Denmark, the U.S. and Singapore. We take great pride in our shared mission to ensure patient safety and in the strong sense of collaboration that defines our team.

We work in a highly professional, international environment where trust, commitment, and mutual support are at the heart of our culture. You’ll find a healthy balance between focused individual work and daily interactions in our open office space, along with the flexibility to work from home when needed – all in alignment with your manager and the nature of your assignments.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

Our preferred candidate brings the following qualifications and capabilities:

type=”disc”-
-A Master’s degree in life sciences (e.g. MD, M.Sc. in Pharmacy, M.Sc. in Human Biology or equivalent);
-Strong medical–scientific expertise with the ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and make well-reasoned decisions in situations characterized by uncertainty and potential impact on patient safety;
-Relevant experience within Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Development, and/or Medical Affairs;
-Profound knowledge of medical concepts and scientific methodology, including critical evaluation and interpretation of complex data sets;
-Experience in neuroscience and/or board certification in neurology is considered a strong asset;
-Well-developed interpersonal, communication, influencing, and organizational skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary and senior stakeholder groups.

Seniority of the position will be based on your experience and qualifications.
