  • Contribute to build and handle interrelation with governments, political institutions, regulatory authorities, retailer and growers ´organisations. Build stakeholder maps and engagement plans.
  • Identify and drive proposals of regulatory changes to protect principal aspects of the business and achieve sensible regulation which balances both the business and corporate reputation protecting consumers’ space and ability to consume BAT products, under line manager coordination.
  • Work effectively within the team, supporting peers, favouring the creation of a positive environment, contributing to the internal comprehension of the Regulatory Affairs business and promoting equity.
  • Provide on-going support to all functions on political, regulatory, excise and trade issues and responses.
  • Support the strategy on Next Generation Products (NGPs), both from a regulatory and corporate equity standpoint.
  • Supporting the Legal and External Affairs team in the deployment of an effective Anti – Illicit Trade strategy.
  • Corporate to the definition and implementation of the tobacco excise strategy.
  • Monitoring environmental, health and safety standards to make sure the company fully meets the external and internal requirements and create best practices which further enhance the overall wellbeing of our employees

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGEESSENTIALExperience Required

  • Minimum 5 years in a corporate, political or regulatory environment
  • An in-depth understanding of politics and diplomacy is essential, as is direct experience in dealing with high ranking government and trade officials on controversial and complex issues.
  • National lobbying and campaigning experience are also required, along with an understanding of the sensitivities and complexities involved in the tobacco industry and the issues facing British American Tobacco.

  • Creative and effective approach to problem resolution.

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
  • Advanced level of Spanish (written and spoken).
