She/he develops government relations, shapes policy and builds connections with key industry groups, institutions and government officials. The role requires contributing to and executing strategic lobbying in relation to key priorities of the Company. The Government and Public Affairs Manager is passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of the low-cost model and to defend the interests of the Group in a fast-changing environment.What we offer:

Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of effective relationships within the public sector, regulatory bodies, Institutions and relevant stakeholders’ groups;
  • Representation of the Group’s interests through interacting with public sector officials, regulatory bodies, institutions and other stakeholders;
  • Coordination and execution of lobbying actions to serve the objectives and priorities the Group and the low-cost business model;
  • Monitoring of draft legislation and the effect of the changes in relation to objectives identified and topics generally relevant to the Company;
  • Preparation of internal forecasts of the likely effect of public policy changes, advice and support to internal teams;
  • Composition of submissions to governments, other institutions or regulator consultations;
  • Synthesis of position papers and presentations to the members of the Senior Management for meetings with key stakeholders;
  • Creates a positive presence among members of governments, civil servants, parliamentarians for the purpose of defending the low-cost business model;
  • Participation in industry events.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, International Affairs, International Law or Communications;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Public / Government Affairs, Legal, Commercial or Communications Department of a multinational company or in the public sector;
  • Solid knowledge of the aviation sector;
  • Sound business judgement and analytical skills combined with high ethical standards;
  • Strong negotiating, influencing and diplomatic skills;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Presentation and organizational skills with the ability to write and translate complex issues into simple presentations;
  • Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment and to manage projects and relationships in multiple countries;
  • Ability to work with government officials and agencies;
  • Good coordinating skills;
  • Fluent professional English and Hungarian, both spoken and written;
  • Fluency in at least one more language, ideally, where the Company has strong presence or growth ambition (Polish, Romanian, German, Italian etc.);
  • High degree of independence;
  • Ability to travel.
