The Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Greenspace Officer to play a significant role
in the development & delivery of actions to improve biodiversity across the Borough.

The successful candidate will deliver specialist ecological support for the management &
development of sites for biodiversity, wildlife, and related issues. You will support the wider
team in day-to-day responses to issues across our parks and greenspace assets, and work in
partnership with adjoining authorities to create effective dialogue and contribute
significantly to Bolton Council’s response to the Climate Emergency.

You will also be responsible for co-ordinating and supporting the work of volunteer groups and
partner organisations in relation to Bolton’s greenspaces, with specific responsibility for the
management of our Major Parks, Local Nature Reserves and Country Parks.

About You:

Are you passionate about the environment and protecting local Greenspace?

If so, we are looking for a candidate who will bring enthusiasm, experience, and a commitment
to protecting and developing Bolton’s ecosystem.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent L6 qualification in an ecological or
environmental field with experience of managing sites for wildlife and biodiversity. You will
have a thorough knowledge and understanding of wildlife and biodiversity issues as they relate
to Local Authorities with an ability to prepare, implement and monitor management plans.

You must be dedicated to partnership working across the public, private, voluntary and
community sectors and an awareness of the related challenges.
