Thank you for considering Smit Lamnalco as your potential employer in the marine services industry!Job DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Group Maintenance Engineer to join our technical team at Smit Lamnalco. As Group Maintenance Engineer, you will execute the maintenance strategy on board vessels to maintain operational reliability and compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.Accountability and Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with class, flag state, OEM, and internal maintenance requirements.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain the maintenance strategy for the vessels in the VMS.
- Provide technical support to shore staff and vessel crew regarding maintenance procedures and the use of the VMS.
- Review maintenance data and performance trends to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support, upgrades, and service planning.
- Perform vessel inspections (VIC) to assess and verify maintenance execution and system condition.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely updates of maintenance records in relevant systems.
- Manage other systems for the Group Fleet department as applicable.
- Assist the department manager with various projects to further develop the Group Fleet Department.
QualificationsRequirements for the positionEducational background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Work experience:
- In-depth knowledge of vessel systems and maritime regulations (ISM, Class, Flag).
- Proficient with planned maintenance systems (preferably MARAD or similar).
- Able to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and manuals.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the maritime sector
The successful candidate must be living in the Netherlands and being able to work in the Netherlands (being a local or in possession of a work permit).
