Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a Head of Drug Substance Project Leadership who is strategic, collaborative, and a change-agent to join our Drug Substance Process Sciences team, based at our UCB campus in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.About the RoleAs the Head of Drug Substance (DS) Project Leadership, you will manage a team of DS Project Leads, ensuring best practices and harmonization of drug substance process development across all UCB’s modalities: synthetic molecules, gene therapy products and biologics candidates from clinical development to commercialization.Who You Will Work WithYou will collaborate with Drug Substance Process Sciences functional group heads as well as cross-functional project teams (TST), including quality, regulatory, Clinical Manufacturing Sciences, Industrial Leads and other key stakeholders, to drive product specific drug substance process development across all of UCB’s modalities.What You Will Do
- Lead Drug Substance Process Leaders for all three modalities.
- Ensure that an appropriate strategic balance between speed, costs and risks for product specific DS process development is defined.
- Lead the definition of product specific DS process development strategies, ensure that project plans are defined, presented, executed and managed effectively, manage DS related risks, the articulation of their impacts and mitigations when appropriate.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between project teams, DS process development groups, and DS Process Sciences stakeholders.
- Manage the DS Project Leads team, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Support regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with Health Authorities’ requirements.
- Mentor and develop a skilled team of Drug Substance Project Leaders.
Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
- Master’s degree or PhD in a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of drug substance packages for therapeutic molecule development ideally in both synthetic molecules and either biologics or gene therapy or vaccines.
- Proven team management and leadership experience in a matrix environment.
- Strong program management experience and expertise, ideally with a project/program management certification.
- Strategic thinking with a multidisciplinary approach.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills.
