This role is pivotal in managing the software category, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring optimal procurement practices. You’ll be responsible for creating and executing a category strategy, managing a team of software category managers, and fostering strategic partnerships within the technology organization.In this role, you’ll set and lead the strategic direction for software procurement, including negotiating new agreements, managing renewals, and ensuring compliance with Maersk’s policies. You’ll create a conducive working environment for the Technology Procurement team, promoting personal growth and high performance. Collaborating with CFBP and platform leads, you’ll monitor spend against budget and align with cost optimization programs. Fostering strategic partnerships within the technology organization and procurement function will be key, as will conducting regular market and supplier research to support multiple sectors in the software category.You’ll also manage risks related to audits, security breaches, and financial stability of vendors. Driving renegotiations with vendors and reducing reliance on resellers will be part of your governance responsibilities. Conducting periodic reviews with vendors and stakeholders, and leading engagements with the M&A team to integrate acquired companies into Maersk’s requirements, will also be crucial.We’re looking for someone with over 10 years of procurement experience, who is a proficient negotiator with strong financial analysis skills.
