8am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, 8am – 1pm Friday£38,000derbyAbove National Minimum Wage, Day shift, Full Time, Monday to Friday, PermanentCommercialSearch Area: Derby, DerbyshireHealth And Safety ManagerHours: 8am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, 8am – 1pm FridaySalary: Up to £38,000Location: DerbyContract Type: PermanentDue to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit a Health And Safety Manager to join our business in Derby on a permanent basis.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General construction industry Health & Safety
  • The completion of RAMS (risk assessments) and Method Statements
  • The ability to update the Directors and wider team on H&S issues, policies and legal requirements.
  • Present the benefits of development and changes in different areas of the business to improve processes and production outputs
  • The ability to create, manage and execute a training plan for:
  • External installation engineers
  • Internal shop floor
  • Office team
  • Manage the schedule of H&S compliance for site, plant and equipment, (LEV and LOLER: ventilation, paint shop requirements, lifting and access equipment
  • To be our company qualified H&S representative, noted on RAMS and Method Statements as the responsible person.
  • Manage and execute appropriate accreditations – CHAS, Safe Contractor and Constructionline
  • Keep up to date with most recent legalities to ensure all site staff are aware and working to ensure company-wide compliance
  • Candidates will be expected to work out of standard office hours if required. This may involve taking calls when necessary
  • Some on-site working may be required when needed and probationary period has been passed

Experience and Skills:

  • Qualified to IOSH or NEBOSH, or equivalent.
  • A proven track record in a similar role working within light engineering would be an advantage.
  • Experience working with a dynamic team and be an approachable employee to encourage open conversations and fit in with company culture
  • Candidates will ideally come from a construction background and have experience managing health and safety for onsite staff and operations as well as field service engineers
  • Strong customer service skills to ensure any issues or discrepancies are dealt with in line with company culture and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very high attention to detail and candidates must be very process driven
