Health & Safety Manager

Location: North of Spain (exact location to be disclosed post-July)
Contract: Long term, with confirmation before 1/7 and official contract creation in early July
Start Date: Objective around 1st of August
Business Travel: Required, with expenses reimbursed
Rate: Market-level Rates for Spain, all-in rate for remote and on-site presence in Spain, no expenses accepted

Company Overview: Not too much can be said as this project is still under NDA, but 2 European giants are combining forces to start a new venture together aimed at setting the new industry standard.

Role Overview: As the Health & Safety Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of health and safety management throughout the planning, design, construction, and commissioning phases of our new investment project. Collaboration with internal project teams, external partners, and stakeholders will be crucial to ensure the success of our project and promote a positive safety culture.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Collaborate proactively with project teams and external partners to promote a positive H&S culture and deliver results through effective health and safety systems.
* Support Engineering Team and Operations EHS Team for Pre-Start-up Safety Review and commissioning activities.
* Lead H&S continuous improvement initiatives and ensure effective implementation of safety processes.
* Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments to monitor H&S effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
* Develop processes to manage safety risks related to project activities and interfaces.
* Provide H&S training, communication, and awareness to project staff and contractors.
* Ensure incidents, accidents, near misses, or non-conformities are reported, investigated, and corrective actions implemented.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on H&S matters and ensure timely reporting of H&S performance.

Technical Profile Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related
* 5+ years of experience in EHS management in a project environment.
* Complete knowledge of applicable H&S laws, regulations, standards, and best practices.
* Proficient in using H&S software tools and applications.
* Certified or eligible for certification as a professional H&S practitioner.
* Track record of success in building a safety culture and enhancing safety capability among employees and contractors.
* Fluent in English and Spanish.

Location and Travel:

* Located in North of Spain (exact location confidential until July).
* Remote work until EOY 2024, onsite presence required afterwards.
* Business travel required, with expenses reimbursed outside Spain.
