Our client, a leading construction company in Ireland, is seeking a Health & Safety Officer for their project in Meath & Louth. This role offers a mix of site visits and office-based work, ideal for candidates seeking a dynamic and varied work environment.Key Responsibilities1. Site Audits & Inspections

• Perform routine site audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct inspections and report findings to the EHS Manager.

2. Safety Coordination

• Collaborate with site supervision to address safety deficiencies and implement improvements.
• Maintain and update statutory inspection records.

3. Induction & Training

• Deliver Health & Safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
• Coordinate and track team training requirements.

4. PPE Management & Safety Equipment

• Recommend and manage necessary PPE for site personnel.
• Inspect and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

5. Meetings & Communication

• Organize and lead Health & Safety meetings for contractors and subcontractors.
• Facilitate toolbox talks to reinforce safety protocols.

6. Documentation & Emergency Preparedness

• Assist with drafting and communicating Risk Assessment & Method Statements (RAMS).
• Compile, update, and communicate site-specific Emergency Plans.
• Prepare the Safety File for seamless handover upon project completion.

7. Compliance & Collaboration

• Support ISO audits and certifications to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with contractors and site safety teams to align on safety practices.

8. Departmental Involvement

• Actively participate in departmental and project meetings.

Requirements

• Education: Third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an EHS role, preferably in construction or civils.
• Certifications: Valid SAFE Pass and Manual Handling Certificates.
• Driver’s License: Valid Irish driver’s license required.
• Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong multitasking capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
