Job description

A HR Manager is required for a rewarding role in the Technology sector. The successful candidate will be the first Human Resources person to join a fast growing team.

  • Strategic HR role reporting directly to the CEO
  • Mix of strategic leadership and hands-on delivery
  • First in-house HR hire – standalone generalist position
  • Build and lead HR operations across the employee lifecycle
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives
  • Implement performance management and leadership training
  • Lead employee engagement, reward, and culture programs
  • Provide expert advice on employment law and HR best practice
  • Manage and update HR policies and ensure compliance
  • Support transformation projects, including new office move
  • Implement SAGE HR and streamline recruitment processes
  • Coach and support leaders – from directors to team leads

  • Industry background in energy, mining, tech or engineering is a must
  • Proven HR generalist with hands-on and strategic expertise
  • Confident with UK employment law and compliance
  • Skilled in coaching, engagement, and leadership development
  • Able to influence at all levels – especially senior suit
  • Adaptable, resilient, and able to “push back” diplomatically
  • Tech-savvy – understanding of software/AI a strong advantage
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Experience with SAGE HR or similar systems
  • Personable, open, with a sense of humour – fits a diverse SLT
  • Can be on-site role d days/ week
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Has corporate experience
  • Has been in a stand alone role
  • CIPD Level 5 or 7 preferred
