This unit is crucial for us, as our colleagues manage navigation, ship propulsion and all technical matters on board. We foster an environment built on trust and transparency, where everyone’s voice is heard.How you’ll live your ambition:From our offices in Genoa, as a HR Development for the onboard Deck & Engine roles, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our development strategy across our fleet. You will manage design, deliver, and evaluate the development programs for our colleagues in the Deck & Engine departments. You’ll be responsible to improve their performance, behaviors, skills and capabilities through the roll-out, management and evaluation of development and retention activities.Demonstrate your passion

  • Chart the course of our development strategy, focusing on shipside colleague developing and retaining the best talents for our company to enable business and organizational objectives.
  • Have the chance to coordinate and track the implementation and follow-up of various maritime people development activities such as cross and personal development plans.
  • Liaise with potentials, ship council and shoreside colleagues to gather input and provide recommendations for development. Prepares and organizes promotions boards, assessments, annual interviews, Leadership trainings.
  • Acts as a trusted and reliable connector between ship and shore personnel, ensuring good communication cross departments and brands. Ensures Carnival Corporation initiatives, e.g. Culture Essentials, employee surveys, DEI are implemented.

Get things right

  • Guiding us towards the horizon, you will manage the training and development budget and keep development materials and resources up-to-date.
  • As a trusted advisor, you will evaluate the effectiveness of development programs through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Monitor industry trends and implement new learning techniques and technologies.

What makes you unique

  • You have at least 6 years of experience in the Training & Development field. Expertise in learning and development specifically related to shipping, maritime, deck & engine roles will be a significant advantage.
  • You hold an academic background in Hr, Economics, Psychology, Business, International Studies, Languages.
  • Knowledge of the latest training and development techniques.
  • Familiarity with understanding of the maritime industry and maritime human resources management.
  • You are talented in organizing, time-management, prioritizing and administration.
  • As a global citizen, you embrace diversity and communicate fluently in English and in at least another language among French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, in addition to Italian language (mother-tongue).
