RSK International Projects Group (IPG) part of RSK Group is looking to recruit a Human Rights Specialist to lead human rights deliverables within our rapidly growing social team.We are flexible on location, both within the UK and internationally, and are happy to consider homeworking for this role.Our social specialists work in multidisciplinary teams to support lenders and clients in the renewable energy, oil and gas, manufacturing and mining sectors, and across project life cycles, from feasibility to decommissioning.Working as a centre of expertise within RSK Group and with a particular focus on the social standards of the international financing institutions (e.g. IFC, EBRD, EIB), our team works with diverse communities around the world supporting our clients to maintain social licence to operate and providing practical, solution-focused social risk management adviceWe currently have exciting opportunities for a human rights specialist with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.Key Responsibilities:Working with our clients to identify and assess human rights risks and develop mitigation measures * Human rights policies, strategies and plans

  • Human rights due diligence
  • Human rights impact assessment
  • Gap analysis and risk assessment
  • Labour audits
  • Delivering stakeholder engagement plans and grievance mechanisms
  • Financial and technical management of projects and tenders
  • Client and project team liaison
  • Business development, including client relationships, contribution to papers and conferences and thought leadership articles to promote the business
  • Technical development and mentoring of team members

Person Specification:

  • Thorough understanding of international frameworks and legislation on human rights including EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organisations (ILO’s) Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development’s (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
  • Good understanding of social standards of international financing institutions
  • First degree in relevant discipline (e.g. human rights law, anthropology, social sciences)
  • Excellent English Skills, both written and verbal.
  • Additional languages, especially French or Spanish, an advantage.
  • Experience in the energy sector, including oil and gas and renewables, as well as the mining sector an advantage
