JOB SUMMARY
This position is in the Engineering and Reliability Department and reports directly to the Engineering and Reliability Manager
The I&E Engineer will oversee plant instrumentation maintenance/reliability initiatives and interface with the appropriate maintenance and manufacturing groups to ensure the highest level of safety, productivity, work quality and reliability for all instrumentation, electrical and analyzer maintenance/reliability activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-I&E Engineer daily activities-45%

-Provide technical leadership on maintenance, assessment and troubleshooting of the plant instrumentation work
-Develop long and short-term improvement plans for the plant instrumentation reliability
-Lead plant instrumentation reliability studies on existing plant instrumentation and recommend needed improvements to key stakeholders
-Provide technical expertise in regard to instrumentation job plan development, equipment critical path, and job scopes
-Evaluate PM strategies and recommend critical spare parts for the plant instrumentation
-Contribute to development of instrumentation standards that will maximize reliability, efficiency, design, and spare part synergy
-Develop auditing protocol for instrumentation repairs and audit contracted repair organizations
-Develop guidelines and procedures for the plant instrumentation repairs and calibrations
-Develop 5-year capital plan for the plant instrumentation and add to the plant capital project portfolio
-Failure Analysis – 40%

-Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on instrumentation failures and analyze data using appropriate reliability analysis tools to develop and implement corrective improvement plans
-Leadership accountability to ensure that data collected is accurate and addresses the appropriate failure modes of facility instruments
-Provides management team with well written and oral presentations with necessary information and supporting analysis to make appropriate business decisions.
-Develop/approve equipment repairs per local/national codes and RAGAGEPs.
-Propose instrumentation material of construction and other design changes to improve instrumentation reliability
-Document Management – 5%

-Leadership accountability to ensure that procedures are in place to define plant instrument maintenance strategies based on evaluated or expected risks
-Audit/evaluate contracted repair organizations and inspect repairs
-Accountable to develop and maintain documentation of emergency/temporary repairs
-Ensure instrumentation records are managing properly
-Utilizing proper Arkema documentation systems as the location for the instrumentation records
-HES Support and MOC Action Items – 5%

-HSE responsibilities include but are not restricted to those outlined in leadership expectations such as reporting any incident in a timely manner.
-Ensuring safe procedures and processes followed by all team members.
-Championing continuous improvement for the department in all areas of HES
-Ensure instrumentation reliability program meets/exceeds local/national regulatory compliance/RAGAGEPs.
-Communication – 5%

-Working effectively with several cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with all levels of the organization
-Accountable to assist plant management in establishing an acceptable level of risk for the plant instruments
-Providing strategic insight to the site instrumentation annual operating process, strategic plan, and capital budget
-Being the recognized expert of instrumentation repairs and inspection techniques
-Accountable for communication of the status of plant instrumentation to appropriate stakeholders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIOAN REQUIRED
Minimum years of experience:
-Minimum 3 years of work experience in the design
repair, maintenance
reliability
fa
lure modes, and/or inspection of chemical process instruments
-Experience with reliability tools such as RCFA, FMEA
-Thorough understanding of plant instrumentation maintenance, repairs, and reliability
-Knowledge of applicable RAGAGEPs including
ANSI
/FCI, IEC
Education and areas of focus:
-B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
Competencies – Knowledge Skills & Abilities

-Knowledge of a broad range of industry standards including NFPA, API, ASME, and ISA standards
-Knowledgeable in all types of industrial instrumentation and process control loop systems
-Basic knowledge of inline process and environmental analyzers and their functions
-Skilled in interpreting electrical diagrams/schematics and loop drawings
-Skilled in Instrument, Controls and Analyzer terminologies and maintenance processes
-Strong experience with industrial computer systems, motor control, PLCs and DCS. Experience with analog and digital signals, HART Protocol and process communication network systems.
-Good written and oral communication skills to interface with operations and maintenance personnel
-Ability to follow maintenance procedures for equipment
-Ability to read, understand and utilize equipment drawings and P&ID’s
-Works well in teams
