The job opening is for a new position, established as part of the autonomy roadmap of the Consumer Healthcare Global Business Unit (CHC GBU). Reporting to the CHC Head of Consolidation, Group Reporting & Norms, we are in search of an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our team as the CHC IFRS Expert & Continuous Process Improvement Lead.

In this capacity, you will be instrumental in ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and promoting excellence in our financial consolidation procedures.

As the IFRS Expert within the Consolidation Department, which encompasses approximately 60 entities, you will become an essential member of our team. Your expertise will be crucial in offering guidance on intricate accounting matters, facilitating the adoption of new accounting standards, and improving the quality of financial reporting throughout the organization.

Main responsibilities:

1. IFRS Compliance:

  • Interpret and apply IFRS standards and regulations to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting across the group’s entities.

  • Develop and maintain our accounting policies, CARE (CHC Accounting Rules for Excellence), compliant with IFRS and adapted to our business specificities

  • Stay abreast of updates and amendments to IFRS standards and assess their impact on the group’s financial statements, disclosures, and consolidation processes.

  • Collaborate with accounting teams to address complex accounting issues, transactions, and arrangements, providing technical guidance and recommendations for resolution.

2. Consolidation Process, audit and disclosure management:

  • Support the consolidation process for the group, providing some technical positions on specific operations and reviewing the main accounting options taken

  • Ensure the appropriate treatment is applied for complex and/or significant deals

  • Ensure appropriate documentation of accounting treatment of complex and highly judgmental areas, including analysis, relevant literature, and conclusions.

  • Evaluate the potential impacts of IFRS evolution for the Group and the implementation of changes required (process, tools, change management).

  • Review financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.

  • Manage audit committee presentation of financial statement

  • Validate URD content and compliance with IFRS

  • Takes part in discussion with AMF

3. IFRS Implementation Projects:

  • Drive projects related to the implementation of new IFRS standards, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.

  • Conduct impact assessments and gap analyses to evaluate the effects of new accounting standards on the group’s financial reporting processes, systems, and controls, and develop implementation plans and training materials accordingly.

  • Participates in the technical monitoring of changes in IFRS standards, takes part in the ANC think tank

4. Financial Reporting Quality:

  • Enhance the quality and transparency of financial reporting through the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with IFRS principles and best practices.

  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process, address audit inquiries, and resolve accounting issues raised during the audit of consolidated financial statements.

  • Provide training and guidance to finance teams and stakeholders on IFRS requirements, accounting treatments, and financial reporting best practices.

5. Manager and Key contact

  • Recruit high skilled resources, promote and strongly develop talents (expertise and leadership)

  • Coach, train and develop in promoting the financial teams

  • Position oneself as a Key Consolidation Contact for other teams (asset valuation / technical accounting, etc.) and functions (controlling / tax /A2R / treasury / external auditors / internal control).

  • Liaise with IFRS experts of our peers in order to benchmark positions but also if needed to push some sectorial positions with the regulatory authorities.

  • Manage and develop the GBS A2R Global SME Accounting IFRS in his role with the local teams.

About you

  • You are a seasoned professional with aMaster’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, bolstered byover five years of experiencein the dynamic landscape of financial reporting and IFRS compliance within a multinational corporation.

  • You possess a profound comprehension of IFRS standards and the acumen to navigate complex financial landscapes, ensuring precision and clarity in reporting.
