Institute Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Institute for Life Sciences team at the University of Southampton.  We are seeking a part time Institute Coordinator to provide high level administrative support to the Institute, its members, and external partners.   

About Us:

The Institute for Life Sciences (IfLS) is a cross-faculty institute responsible for promoting interdisciplinary life sciences research, enterprise and education across the University and externally.  We connect researchers from different disciplines to build interdisciplinary collaborations at the heart of the Life Sciences community.  We engage with a vibrant, diverse network of experts across the University, central South and beyond.

About the role:

Based at our Highfield campus, this post will support the Institute strategic objectives.  Working alongside the IfLS Directors and support professionals, you will play a key role in providing high level and flexible administrative support for Institute meetings, strategic activities, events and communications.  You will provide comprehensive, effective and efficient planning for Institute events and support effective communications with Institute internal and external stakeholders.

This post is offered on a 0.6 FTE part time fixed term (1 year) basis.

About you:

The successful applicant will be well organised and adaptable, taking a positive approach to managing a busy workload and providing high level administrative support.  They will be an excellent team player and a proven ability to work proactively.   

They will be able to apply good judgement and take a creative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.  Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential. Time management, organisational skills, and a good working knowledge of Microsoft O365 products are also requirements.
