The International Collaboration Manager is a new role in the Research Funding and Contracts team in Research Services. You will play a leading role in enabling the University’s vital international research collaborations in an increasingly dynamic environment.

About the Role

As an International Collaboration Manager you will be a senior member of the Trusted Research team, providing expert advice to researchers and departments and playing a key role in developing institutional policy and process.

You will raise internal awareness of trusted research matters with, and develop and deliver training for, a wide range of research and research-related staff through a variety of means, including by convening a community of practice. You will engage proactively with research groups to ensure appropriate management of international collaboration risk.

You will work directly with researchers to identify risks related to the trusted research agenda; due diligence, export control, National Security and Investments Act. You will support researchers, advising them of appropriate actions and enabling their research activity; liaising with colleagues in professional services as appropriate. 

You will represent the University in a variety of external networks and project groups such as the Higher Education Export Control Association. You will use your experience to provide strategic advice and briefings to senior members of the University and to prepare responses to national consultations.

About You

To be successful in this varied and interesting role, you will need to have significant experience in supporting international collaborations or compliance, with strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels. You will be able to make complex information accessible to non-experts.

You will be able to grasp complex and potentially large amounts of information, getting to the heart of an issue and developing pragmatic, well founded, advice.

You will feel comfortable working on your own and within a team.
