The BDU is a key contributor to the Open University’s (OU) strategy for extending reach to more diverse groups of learners through a range of channels, learning opportunities and partnerships that enable innovation and income diversification. The Unit plays a key role in delivering growth in existing markets and establishing the University in new markets, including apprenticeships.

The role

The Open University is recruiting an International Partnership Coordinator.

The postholder will play a key role in maintaining collaborative relationships between The Open University (OU) and international higher education partners. The role will incorporate management of a portfolio of international partnerships, with a customer-oriented focus. It involves planning, communication, and coordination to ensure successful partnerships that contribute to the global reach and reputation of our institution.  The role will work alongside the Head of International Partnerships and Senior International Partnership Manager to support the growth of our partnership portfolio using a range of products and services to ensure commercial sustainability of The Open University’s international offer.  Through this, it will support the vision of reaching more students with life-changing learning through strategic partnerships at scale. 

Skills and experience summary

  • Strong knowledge of external partnerships activity within the Higher Education sector, and a track record of successful management of partnerships / relationships.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • Experience of co-ordinating events such as large scale meetings and workshops.
  • Creative approach to problem resolution, with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong financial management skills and experience.
