Internship: ATE characterization (Parametric Measurement Units)Business Unit OptoMEMSInternTessenderlo-HamProject descriptionAre you a highly motivated Master’s student in Electrical/Electronics Engineering looking for a challenging thesis project with real-world impact?At Melexis, we’re pushing the boundaries of automated testing to ensure the quality of our cutting-edge microchips, which are used in a wide range of applications, from automotive to medical devices. The core of the Test system is the Automated Test Equipment – or ATE.An ATE is a computerized system to test electronics. It combines a large number of hardware channels (like multimeters, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, ….) with software to automate testing and analyze results, ensuring products meet quality standards. This boosts efficiency and accuracy compared to manual testing. At Melexis, we develop our own ATE internally. We strive to improve our system continuously, and have generational improvements as well. Soon we will launch a project for a new generation tester, and this is where you come in. By characterizing the analog performance of our ATE in detail and suggesting improvements, you can have a lasting impact on our ATE design.Project goals

  • Use a mix of hard- and software to characterize the analog performance of our ATE
  • Compare your measurements with the design specifications
  • Come up with suggestions for real improvements in our ATE design
