Job description
Internship: ATE continuity test generatorBusiness Unit OptoMEMSInternTessenderlo-HamProject descriptionAre you a highly motivated Master’s student in Electrical/Electronics Engineering looking for a challenging thesis project with real-world impact? At Melexis, we’re pushing the boundaries of automated testing to ensure the quality of our cutting-edge microchips, which are used in a wide range of applications, from automotive to medical devices. The first test in any Test Solution (TS) is the Continuity Test, which determines correct contact with the IC. Every Continuity Test is unique, because every project has unique IC designs and test hardware it needs to check. Your goal is to automate developing the Continuity test to guarantee a good contact between the Device Under Test and the test system..Based on a hardware schematic + IC design, it is possible to generate Continuity Test code in a generic way. You will make a back end that generates the code controlling the tester hardware, and be able to debug your solution on actual production setups. In doing so, you will learn important aspects of IC design and its impact on mass chip manufacturing processes. You will learn about system design taking into account both hard- and software constraints.Project goals
- Design and implement a backend system to generate Continuity Test code based on hardware schematics and IC designs.
- Optionally, develop a user-friendly GUI (optional) to visualize the IC contact points on the machine.
- Debug and optimize your solution on real production test setups.
