As such, the Global IP Department plays a crucial role in Sanofi’s mission. IPAI’s central mission is to guide informed IP decisions and strategies maximizing the value of Sanofi’s business assets by combining internal and external resources to holistically support IP generation, protection, and monetization.About Growing with usIn this role you will…

  • Focus on identifying & analysing emerging biological trends and technologies and identifying related IP assets and whitespaces for additional IP filings.
  • Define & manage IP generation and monetization projects,
  • Perform expert patent searches, accessing, and reporting of key findings (mainly patents, but also other publications) related to biologics, including monoclonal antibodies, cell therapies, gene therapies, etc.
  • Develop a deep understanding for critical next-generation biologics,
  • Evaluate patent analytics and AI tools and vendors,
  • Advise key stakeholders,
  • Proactively work with IPAI teammates and biologics patent attorneys globally to understand and meet strategic priorities and informational needs using artificial intelligence (“AI”) & other advanced analytics tools

About you

  • Master, or PhD (preferred) in Biomedical, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or other relevant life-sciences field. Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or significant knowledge of data analysis and computational techniques are a plus
  • Min. 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient with sequence search and analysis for peptides, antibodies, and oligonucleotides
  • Proficient in conducting patent searches, patentability assessments, patent landscapes and freedom to operate (FTO) analysis
  • Professional experience as an IP expert, patent manager, or patent searcher
  • Knowledge of market analysis, strategic planning, and evaluation forecasting
  • Strong analytical skills to rigorously assess immunological mechanisms, molecular pathways, and bio-therapeutic modalities
  • Highly independent, self-motivated, and self-directed
  • Ability to work well with others in cross-functional and global teams with multiple stakeholders
