JOB VACANCYINTERNAL & EXTERNALIT Service TechnicianPermanentFull Time: 35 hours per weekWorking Pattern: Mon – Fri (may include scheduled evening shifts)Salary: Grade 4 £31,920 – £34,332 per year (Successful candidates will commence at £31,920)Due to an internal promotion within the IT Department, the College are looking to recruit an IT Service Technician. Working within the IT Desktop Support Section, you will be required to provide integrated technical services to meet needs of all partners e.g. staff, students and external partners. You will provide a customer-focused desktop support service, ensuring all requests are fully tracked and processed in line with predefined SLA’s and change management procedures. You will be required to provide operational cover (including shift cover) as required by IT management to meet College needs outside core hours.You will have professional experience or proven knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems, a wide range of software applications, software packaging techniques and hardware support for end-user devices and audio-visual equipment. The college uses SCCM, InTune, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and JAMF, and prior experience with these tools would be useful.Other duties include monitoring IT systems to ensure business critical systems/services are running at optimal performance and to pre-empt faults before end users are affected.Understanding or experience of working with virtual desktops, application virtualization, mobile devices, active directory and PowerShell would be advantageous. An ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team is essential.To apply for this position, you must have a relevant HNC/SVQ Level III or an equivalent level qualification in a relevant subject.
