Our Credit Team maintains the financial records of the business, ensures appropriate controls and governance to minimize risk and provides insightful management reporting to drive business decisions. We support strategic change and partner with business leaders and managers as needed.Key AccountabilitiesAs a Junior Credit Analyst you will review business financial information and Credit Reference Agency data to recommend appropriate dealer stock funding facilities. You will play a key part in monitoring and managing the funding portfolio, identifying potential risks and taking proactive steps to mitigate them. Ensuring compliance with internal process, procedures and reporting standards is essential, as is responding to alerts from credit agencies to manage risk in line with our credit policy.Please note: Approximately 60% of the role is administrative in nature with the remaining 40% focussed on analytical tasks.What You Will Be Doing

  • Assist the Credit Team in conducting credit analysis for new stocking limit applications, renewals and amendments, by interpreting business financial information and credit reference agency data.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in internal systems to support cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct anti money laundering and portfolio checks to ensure dealers meet eligibility criteria and NextGear Capital remains compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across NextGear Capital and Cox Automotive to support seamless completion of credit analysis tasks.
  • Building developing and managing strong funding relationships with business owners and Directors of new and existing clients.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in credit or underwriting for commercial credit facilities is preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong financial analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements (P&L & Balance Sheet analysis is essential).
  • Familiarity with Credit Reference Agency reports (advantageous.
  • Automotive industry knowledge is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience with Salesforce (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word & Excel.
  • Analytical thinker with a keen eye for detail and a strong credit analysis focus.
  • Excellent decision-making, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
  • Confident problem-solver and team player with a calm approach under pressure.
  • Solid IT, numerical and data interpretation skills
