In your role as a Data Privacy Specialist, you are going to be part of Syngenta’s Data Privacy Customer Support Team. By providing customer service to your internal clients, you will play a significant role in helping Syngenta Group ensure compliance with data privacy laws and protect personal information.We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how the role can help with emphasis on activities where personal data is involved:

  • Assist with data mapping, privacy assessments and investigations of the organization’s data processing activities as part of the “sustain and maintain” of the OneTrust data protection management system.
  • Provide customer support for internal clients in functions like IT & HR to ensure data protection controls are integrated into the organization’s supporting systems.
  • Monitor and respond to data privacy queries, including questions related to utilization of OneTrust tool.
  • Assist in the deployment of the OneTrust tool throughout the various jurisdictions of Syngenta Group. This includes organizing and facilitating internal interviews with representatives of various functional teams.
  • Assist with developing policies, guidelines, training material and training delivery to ensure the organization is compliant with data privacy rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Syngenta’s Global Data Protection Office in monitoring the organization’s compliance with data privacy laws and guidelines to ensure that privacy risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Assist with the implementation of an incident management and response plan to handle potential privacy incidents.
  • Stay informed and help educate the organization to raise awareness on the importance of data privacy compliance. E.g.: Curating content for and distributing our Data Privacy newsletter.

  • Is an enthusiastic customer support professional who has passion for the data privacy compliance topic and is willing to develop and specialize in this area of evolving compliance.
  • Has minimum 1-2 years of experience in leading or participating in tool or process implementation or have a background in advisory/consulting or related support roles.
  • Is proactive in problem-solving and experienced at query resolution in support of customers/clients.
  • Has CIPP/E, CIPP/M or CIPT certification or you are open to obtain any of these.
  • Has experience in process mapping & supporting on data privacy impact assessments.
  • Has excellent communication skills.
  • Works well across functions and cultures at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Has excellent time management skills.
  • Has a proactive, autonomous and flexible personality with very good organizational skills and an interest in evolving technologies (like AI) that will bring new privacy compliance challenge.

Prior knowledge of GDPR, familiarity with OneTrust or equivalent data protection management systems, possession of data privacy qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/M or CIPT can be advantageous but are not essential prerequisites for this role.
