Working environmentWithin a higher education and research landscape that has been profoundly reshaped over the last decade, La Rochelle University has chosen to specialize its research around a distinctive scientific positioning, by devoting its scientific and academic potential to societal and environmental issues. This strategic orientation led to the creation of the Sustainable Urban Intelligent Coastline Institute (LUDI), operational since September 1, 2021. Bringing together all the laboratories, doctoral students and master’s programs, this institute aims to address the multiple scientific issues induced by the anthropisation of the coastline, by promoting decompartmentalized and interdisciplinary approaches. It develops a proactive policy of innovation and dissemination of results, while ensuring the ethical foundations and scientific integrity of the activities carried out. The creation of the LUDI Institute is part of a context framed by two structuring projects: on the one hand, the European university EU-CONEXUS, a network bringing together partner European universities sharing a common specialty, and on the other hand, the CampusInnov initiative, intended to develop the culture of innovation in both education and research.The position is to be filled within the Sustainable Urban Intelligent Coastline Institute ( ) – LaSIE UMR CNRS 7356 laboratory.Teaching activitiesThe ability to teach in English is desirableThe candidate will mainly be involved in the first to third year of the Physics and Chemistry B.Sc. courses, giving lectures and practical work in general chemistry, solution chemistry and physico-chemical analysis. He/she may also be involved in the Health Sciences B.Sc. course (practical work in L3 organic chemistry) and in the Materials Science and Engineering M.Sc. course. He/she may also be involved in supervising 3rd year internship students (thesis internships, sandwich courses, etc.).Teaching department management: Valérie Thiéry –Research activitiesThe Laboratory of Engineering Sciences for the Environment: LaSIE UMR 7356 CNRS – La Rochelle Université brings together a broad spectrum of skills with integrated approaches from the atomic scale to materials, buildings and their environment at different scales of time and space.
