Are you highly organised, creative and have a good understanding of all elements of marketing, from website and social media to print and production?  Do you have the confidence to communicate with a wide range of people on a day to day basis? If so, the role of Communications and Events Coordinator could be ideal for you.

In this post you will provide excellent communications and event support for our Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS).  You will contribute and create content for both written publications such as newsletters and press releases and for digital platforms and you will therefore be technically proficient in both web design and the use of a range of social media application and design packages such as Canva.   

What will you be doing day-to-day?

  • creating and disseminating a range of creative and effective communications 
  • communicating news stories and press releases that are engaging and the promote the School
  • organising events, photoshoots, films and publications for the Schools website 
  • support the School’s student recruitment and conversion activities such as Open Days and Applicants Days, Clearing, Outreach initiatives and events designed to further the Schools civic mission and increase public engagement

What are we looking for?

  • educated to GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent
  • high level of accuracy and attention to details and proven experience of producing targeted and effective written communications
  • strong customer service experience and commitment to delivering a high-quality service
  • excellent oral and written communication skills

KMMS opened to its first cohort of 108 pioneer students in September 2020. The vision for KMMS is to create a new medical school for Kent and Medway that becomes a beacon for first-class medical education and research.
