This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.

As part of our Digital Team, reporting to the Head of Digital, you’ll be leading a small team of Content Designers on the development of effective, user-focused website content, delivering wide-ranging content projects for our

University website

.

Our content work is broadly divided between two core areas and associated teams: content development (managed by this Lead Content Designer role) and content maintenance (managed by our Lead Content Editor). The two teams work closely together to ensure that content is managed optimally across the stages of its lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate with our Senior UX Designer, Web Analyst and others in the team to ensure that content is rooted in user research and aligned with strategic objectives and that the performance of content is tracked to understand ROI and identify further areas for improvement.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need significant experience in user-centred design practice in the context of content development, as well as strong experience in the management and delivery of successful content projects. You’ll be a strategic thinker and a highly communicative and collaborative team player, keen and able to motivate and inspire a team to achieve its best work and to keep learning and improving.

The Digital Team is currently made up of 15 people and we’re responsible for the University’s main website.

We work across content, design (UI and UX), development (front and back end), and web analytics, using an Agile framework (and the project management tool JIRA) to organise and deliver much of our work.

We have a Smart Working Policy in the team that allows for significant hybrid working. Most of our communication and collaboration is now conducted online, via MS Teams, but we also have a central London office, near Oxford Street, that we share with colleagues from both our wider Global Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing and Communications department, as well as other Professional Services departments.

If you’d like an informal discussion about the role, you’re welcome to contact Suvi Streatfield, Head of Digital, at [email protected].
