Research activities in the School are supported by a variety of sources including the €22M Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Centre for Research Training in the Foundations of Data Science (www.data-science.ie) which currently has over 40 PhD students in UCD, the Irish Research Council (IRC) and through European Union funding, e.g., the European Research Council (ERC) and Doctoral Training Network schemes. Individual fellowships held by members of the School over the last five years include two ERC Advanced Grants, two IRC Advanced Laureate Grants, two Royal Society/SFI University Research Fellowships, as well as SFI-IRC Research Council Pathway Fellowships and Marie Sk odowska-Curie Action Postdoctoral Fellowships. The School has strong research links with a broad variety of industry and enterprise partners.The UCD College of Science, to which the School of Mathematics and Statistics belongs, is undergoing an exciting transformation under the guiding principle of `data in science, science in data’.UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics, along with the College of Science and the School of Education, offers four programmes in Science and Mathematics Education. These programmes are aimed at educating post-primary Mathematics and Science teachers, and are accredited by the Teaching Council.The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the School’s teaching programmes and engage in research in some aspect of Mathematics Education.95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Below the Bar (7944) Salary Scale: €40,682 – €69,886 Per Annum
