The Department of Sociology at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the course, SOC 179a, Sociology of Drugs in America. This four-credit undergraduate course will be taught in person in the Fall 2023 semester. The class is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:10 AM-12:30 PM. The course addresses contemporary debates and dilemmas surrounding the use, misuse, and control of drugs, both legal medications and illicit substances. The course is designated as writing intensive.
Candidates with a PhD in sociology and teaching experience in the subject matter of the course will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter and CV. The deadline for first consideration is March 17, 2023.
This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
