Lecturer in Visual Communications (0.5 FTE)

Join our team at our vibrant city campus and play an important and active role in our teaching team on BA(Hons) Graphic Design within our Visual Communication subject area. This is a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE) position.

You will be working with students and colleagues to develop this internationally renowned course in line with the evolving nature of contemporary graphic design practices. Central to this will be your capacity to draw together critical theory and practice-based learning to support students to position their own practice and understanding within wider contexts, combining making and thinking.  

To be effective in this position, you will need:

  • A good degree in Graphic Design or associated subjects
  • Expertise in graphic design principles, practice and contemporary cultural studies
  • Evidence of scholarship, research/professional activities to support teaching and learning. 

We are particularly keen to appoint lecturers who are have a PhD our equivalent professional experience and experience of leading and developing modules/courses. You will be based at our campus at Grand Parade in the city centre, a hub for the University’s creative courses, ground-breaking exhibitions and international research.
