An exciting opportunity has arisen for a health psychologist, pharmacist, or other healthcare professional with expertise in behavioural science to contribute to the teaching and research portfolio of the Pharmacy Subject Group within the School of Applied Sciences.

We are looking for an individual to work in our Medicines Use team to develop an educational programme that equips pharmacy students with the necessary skills in behavioural science, clinical decision-making, or treatment adherence. The post-holder would also be expected to engage with clinical research, as a member of the Centre for Lifelong Health, collaborating with colleagues within the Sussex Integrated Care System.

The post-holder will join a vibrant, multi-disciplinary team, committed to providing high-quality education to our students, and research that impacts upon clinical care. This includes inspiring the next generation of pharmacy graduates by adopting innovative approaches to clinical teaching, informed by our research, to breed inquisitive thinkers capable of effective decision-making.

Our team delivers clinical teaching to undergraduate students on our patient-centred, case-based MPharm degree that has recently been accredited against the 2021 GPhC standards. We also run several post-graduate courses which include Independent Prescribing for Pharmacists, OSPAP and an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy. We also lead on interprofessional teaching with the Brighton and Sussex Medical school and have strong research and teaching links with the pharmacy teams at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and other local Trusts. Our School is proud to hold a Silver Athena SWAN award. We welcome applications from suitably qualified individuals from groups currently under-represented on our staff.

This is a full-time, permanent post. Job-sharers are welcome to apply.
