Our Clinical Lecturers (Teaching) play a key role in delivering high-quality education, supporting curriculum development, and driving forward medical education projectsAbout the roleWe are seeking a dedicated clinician to join UCL Medical School as a Lecturer (Teaching) – Clinical, with a focus on assessment. You will design, coordinate, and support undergraduate assessments across the MBBS programme, ensuring alignment with our curriculum and assessment strategy.Key responsibilities include contributing to item writing, developing the question bank, supporting ePortfolio development, and collaborating on assessment research projects. You will also engage with wider academic activities across UCLMS and be supported in your ongoing professional development.Appointment details:
- The appointment is available from October 2025 and is funded for 6 months or until the substantive postholder returns, whichever is sooner
- Due to the requirements of this role, we are unable to offer working hours below 0.6 FTE.
- The post is grade 8, the annual salary for which ranges from £54,931 to £62,903 (including London Allowance).
- Applicants who work medically at a SAS grade under a separate contract with an NHS Trust or public health body will be placed on UCL’s clinical pay scales as per the CL8 grade. They will be expected to join their clinical and this teaching roles under a single contract, as per the Follett Principles.
- You will be placed on CL8 if jointly combined with a medical role or G8 if standalone teaching position.
About youYou are a GMC-registered medical professional with experience in teaching and assessment at the undergraduate level. You have strong communication skills, work well in teams, and are confident using digital learning tools. You understand educational principles and are committed to equality, collaboration, and continuous professional development. Experience in medical education research or leadership is desirable.Application process:
