Job description
Currently we are looking for Legal Counsel.WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE :
- Provide legal advice and serve as trusted legal advisor to various team in the Polish business with special focus on Personal Care, Unilever Food Solution, E commerce, Customer Operations and Customer Development;
- Demonstrate leadership on governance, risk and business integrity;
- Draft, review and/or negotiate contracts and settlements;
- Evaluate legal options and risks; develop appropriate strategies and advice Unilever commercial managers accordingly;
- Ensure legal compliance with local law and Unilever policies;
- Defend and enforce Unilever product claims against third parties;
- Corporate Secretary responsibility for all Polish Unilever entities;
- Initiate and/or coordinate legal proceedings;
- Implementation of global or European master agreements into local law;
- Support to management related external relationships (authorities, trade associations, lobbying activities);
- Assisting consumer care line with responses to consumer complaints as necessary, including liaising with the Comms team;
- Collaborating with other Unilever in-house lawyers, both in Europe and globally, including contributing to cross country projects from time to time;
- Drafting and negotiating miscellaneous commercial agreements;
- In close collaboration with other expert lawyers within Unilever, advising on matters concerning intellectual property (including brand protection and licensing;
- Providing training to the business in relation to any of the above matters, including as part of Unilever’s overall compliance framework;
- Position reports to the General Counsel Poland;
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Broad general legal and extensive civil and commercial law knowledge;
- Polish and English fluently incl. special legal vocabulary;
- Polish legal counsel admitted at Legal Counsel Bar;
- High customer orientation;
- Collaborative, problem-solving approach;
- Ability to multi-task, take ownership and drive matters to conclusion;
- Fully qualified Polish lawyer;
- Minimum of 5 years’ working experience as an in-house lawyer;
- Good understanding of commercial aspects and needs;
- Experience working in FMCG industry, retail or trade is ideal, but not a necessity;
- Ability to analyse problems and propose commercial solutions;
- Excellent communication, drafting and organisation skills;
- Marketing law;

- Ability to identify and communicate legal risks to the business, and to assist the business to manage such risks efficiently;
