The Position

As Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager, NERM, you will provide legal and compliance support to five countries comprising the NERM Cluster: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq & Libya. You will manage exiting legal and compliance issues of high priority and impact on Novo Nordisk and handle legal and compliance matters arising from the business activities, including in areas such as engaging with health care professionals, corporate governance, contract management, data privacy.

You will independently:

-Provide fast, effective, high quality and business-oriented legal and compliance advice.
-Implement global/regional Business Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures and support the strong ethical culture of Novo Nordisk.
-Network internally & externally and liaise with other business partners and external stakeholders to ensure business dealings in line with the legal and ethical framework.
-Be the advisor on Business Ethics and Compliance issues, including compliance risk assessments and due diligence processes.
-Develop and deliver innovative training to ensure NERM employees are well trained, interact with the local Novo Nordisk leaders, as well as global and regional legal and compliance functions, and serve as a point-of-contact with outside counsel regarding evaluation and development of mitigating strategies.
Occasional travel might be required (20%) to NERM Affiliates (excluding Syria and Libya), Switzerland and Denmark. In addition, you will work together with the BAMEAC Legal, Ethics & Compliance department, helping to support 75 countries from time to time on projects and complex regional issues.

Qualifications

You have a minimum bachelor’s degree in law, and you are a member of the applicable legal bar/law society with 5+ years of legal experience in a multinational environment (Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is an advantage). You have excellent command over both written and spoken English. Further sought-after skills are;

-You have experience with Business Ethics and Compliance in pharmaceutical or medical device industry (including codes of conduct, FCPA and UK Anti-bribery Act)

-You are a strong legal acumen
-You have a clear drive to learn and affinity for navigating the complex environment governing multinational pharmaceutical business
-You have excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
-You have cultural awareness, international mind-set with a desire and ability to work in a global environment
 

About the department

Novo Nordisk NERM Cluster is part of BAMEAC (Business Area Middle East, Africa and CIS) and has responsibility for the five countries: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq & Libya where 140 individuals passionately serve patients with diabetes, obesity and other serious chronic diseases.

Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager, NERM, will help driving our Legal & Compliance agenda and provides legal and compliance assistance to all functions and Business Units in the Cluster.
