Location: Leeds or ManchesterI’m delighted to be representing a market-leading client in their search for a talented Legal Manager (7+ years PQE) with deep expertise in asset management. This exciting opportunity sits within their Managed Legal Services (MLS) team, supporting the Property group, and offers the chance to oversee legal and strategic operations for a major client with an extensive property portfolio.This role is perfect for a skilled professional with strong supervisory experience, a passion for delivering exceptional client service, and an interest in working on large, complex portfolios.The Role
As the Legal Manager, you will be the lead legal advisor for a major food and beverage client, offering expertise and strategic direction for their asset management portfolio. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary legal advisor for asset management matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including those specific to the food and beverage industry.
- Leading the negotiation, drafting, and oversight of leases, licences, surrenders, variations, and other related agreements.
- Managing legal risks proactively and offering innovative solutions tailored to the client’s needs.
- Leading and developing a high-performing team of legal professionals, fostering collaboration and excellence.
- Acting as the main point of contact for the client, building strong relationships and aligning legal services with their strategic goals.
- Leveraging legal technology to manage client portfolios, track performance, ensure compliance, and drive data-driven decisions.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A qualification in English law with a minimum of 7+ years’ PQE, ideally within a busy asset management team.
- Extensive experience in asset management, with exposure to the food and beverage sector being advantageous.
- Proven experience managing large, complex portfolios or client accounts.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of fostering a high-performance culture.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using legal technology platforms and tools to optimize portfolio management and compliance.
