About the role
We are looking for a customer-focused individual to join our small team at the Continuing Education Library on Wednesdays 2.30-7.30pm, Thursdays 11.30am-7.30pm and Fridays 10.00am-5pm.
The Continuing Education library serves a diverse range of mainly part time, mature students including some with little experience of higher education. Your main responsibilities will be issuing books and helping students make the most of the library, for example by assisting them with the catalogue, accessing e-resources and using library facilities.
In addition to reader services, you will also spend time processing and checking reading lists for stock availability and receiving new books, cataloguing and adding information to the online catalogue. You will also be involved in shelving stock and scanning books.
This role requires lifting, moving and carrying books.
This is a permanent, part-time post, working 18 hours per week.
About you
You will have experience of providing excellent customer services.
You will have the ability to undertake a range of routine tasks with care and accuracy.
You will have good IT skills.
You will work effectively as part of a team.
Previous experience of working in a library environment or customer services environment is desirable.
