Maintenance Engineer

Manchester region

To cGBP45k + vehicle + benefits (neg dep exp)

Our client is recognised as a market leader in the manufacture and supply of bespoke specialist fire rated glass solutions to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated multi skilled Maintenance Engineer to complement their established and professional team.

Based in the Manchester area but required to undertake fortnightly trips to the Edinburgh site (requiring an overnight stay) when required, the successful Maintenance Engineer candidate will be tasked with undertaking both planned preventative and reactive maintenance and installation activities on a range of glass processing equipment and special purpose machinery as well as associated plant and facilities equipment.

Our client offers customers an exhaustive portfolio of complete glazing solutions from initial design through to commissioning, and the successful candidate will demonstrate a hands-on, multi skilled and electrically biased engineering background along with exceptional communication and customer facing skills to ensure complete satisfaction on every occasion.

You will be responsible for all aspects of associated Stores Management and inventory management of machines at each site and will devise and implement an effective Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule across the sites as well as providing reactive breakdown call out cover as required.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant engineering discipline and will possess at least 3 years’ experience of working in a maintenance or Field Service capacity with glass processing machinery experience proving distinctly advantageous.

Previous Maintenance Engineer or Field Service Engineer experience of working with Tamglass Furnace equipment, Bottero, RBB and Intermac glass processing machinery is favoured although experience of Bavelloni, Atlantic, Thermoseal or Bystronic machines will also be considered.
