This person will be responsible for overseeing the compliance and corporate governance execution inside OPC within Amex Spain to enhance operational efficiencies and business performance.Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and leading part of the OPC support functions.
- Interacting with different internal areas/departments that are owning the different projects and/or main tasks. Some of these are Legal, compliance, operational excellence, risk, GMS business, board secretary and internal audit teams.
- Providing guidance, program oversight / governance to the OPC leadership team, being aware of legal updates and market practices and making proposals to continuously evolve and ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting audit, corrective action, and operational risk event remediation efforts related to relevant regulatory or compliance programs.
- Coordinating and driving alignment of cross-functional processes.
- Ensuring the development, implementation and update of compliance policies, procedures and governance framework in OPC.
- Establishing risk management strategies to identify, assess and mitigate risks.
- Supporting OPC Directors and Leaders with governance and compliance related matters.
- Ensuring that decision making aligns with regulatory and operational best practices.
- Managing stakeholders and build relationships with relevant parties inside the business.
- Providing recommendations to OPC Directors and Leaders on governance, compliance, risk mitigation and process improvements.
- Maintaining corporate records and documentation for transparency and accountability
- Overseeing and conduction of internal audits and risk assessments
- Monitoring regulatory changes and timely adaptation of the business.
- Ensuring training on compliance requirements are identified and delivered in a timely manner.
- Planning, coordinating and supervising the implementation of projects aligned with business objectives.
- Ensuring support and governance of the European process oversight teams in OPC and supporting GPIP and GMAC policy adherence, both in OPC and across Europe.
- Supporting and project managing change initiatives impacting colleagues across OPC.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Fluent English and Spanish
- Proven ability to work autonomously and adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change.
- Experience of working in one or more of these areas is preferred: Legal, compliance/regulatory, operational excellence, risk.
- Problem solver and agile decision-maker with solid analytical skills.
- Attention to details.
- Strong team player with ability to influence opinions without having direct authority.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills allowing for clear and appropriate messaging for multiple levels/audiences.
- Understanding of the merchant business, related regulatory landscape, and emerging trends/models is preferred.
- Exposure to regulatory and policy compliance activities with a strong control mindset and attention to detail.
- Project management experience
- BA or BS degree preferred
