Manager, Engineering, Airline Offer Creation, Nevio – Open Offer Ecosystem

Amadeus Nevio is the new flagship product Suite currently under construction by Airline Solution teams. It is designed to unlock the Retailing Transformation for our Airline customers. This new platform leverages NDC standards of communication, Offer & Order paradigm as well as Retailer/Supplier model for interline.

The OFR division is one of the 3 pillars of this transformation along with Order and the Touchpoints. In that division, the department Inventory and Open Offer (IO2) is responsible for both

  • the new Inventory/Stock Keeper the hosts the quotas, counters and bookings associated with products sold through Nevio
  • the Open Offer resource, that materializes Offers proposed by the Nevio Ecosystem as a whole and that is used to generate Orders that materialize the contract between Airlines and travelers.

The Offer division’s IO2-O2E team is responsible for the Offer Restoration that constitutes a crucial link between the PSS and the innovative Nevio platform. The Nevio platform seamlessly integrates with the PSS, receiving feeds and restoring Offers and Orders using PNR/Ticket/Sales data. As a leader within the team, you will drive the initiative to achieve the milestones in Offer/Order transformation, ensuring complete synchronization between both platforms. This capability is crucial to migrating our existing customer and it is also a key enabler to facilitate the integration of new Airlines not using our systems yet like in the Polaris project.

The team is also actively involved in the deployment of the storage of Offer in the cloud and enables Nevio capabilities.

The new manager will have to drive the transformation of the line organization, this encompasses the resource ramp-up of the team, the creation of the induction program, the improvement of the engineering experience and the vision of the component.

As manager of Open Offer Ecosystem team your daily working life will be made of:

  • Building future proof offer-based solutions, at the forefront of the retail transformation of the airline industry.
  • Working on cloud native applications and new Event Driven stack based on Skube.
  • Taking the performance challenges to a next level: all our applications are part of the “shopping flow” dealing with low latency and a huge traffic (several thousands of TPS)
  • Room for creativity as we are creating a new platform.
  • Other than the delivery aspect, providing a better job experience to the team members and managing their growth is a key focus for the position.
  • Within our Agile way of working, managing resources in different Amadeus Release Trains

Key Accountabilities Management and Engagement

  • Manage software development engineers, product definition analysts, quality assurance engineers and DevOps in the delivery of all committed projects on-time, on-scope, and adherence to corporate standards and quality.
  • Define team objectives and translate them into individual objectives for each team member in line with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate team and individual performance Provide input for salary reviews.
  • Develop the team based on continuous assessment.
  • Motivate and guide individual team members to stretch and expand their own capabilities (know-how, behavior, communication etc…)
  • Build/manage a team fostering a collaborative work environment which promotes innovation and empowerment.
  • Perform the interviews to recruit the relevant profiles.
  • Ensure maintaining the team spirit.

Accountability / Business acumen

  • Define and share the technical/functional team roadmap and vision according to the department/division/company objectives.
  • Propose functional and technical vision of the component.
  • Report on team activities.
  • Be accountable for the performance and results of a unit within own discipline or function.
  • Develop plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Suggest alternatives / improvements / new techniques in processes, flows, operational models and plans.
  • Moderate budgetary impact on business.
  • Timely manage the investigation and resolution of production support issues and customer inquiries.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other teams and different profiles (architect, solution definition manager, QA manager) to ensure that software systems are designed for testability, stability, scalability, and performance.
  • Ensure Agility practices are followed.

Communication

  • Ensure timely and appropriate communication between team members regarding company/organization information.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate communication outside the team as well.

Experience

  • Several years of work experience and familiarity with Amadeus products or the airline industry is a plus.
