Your role is pivotal in analyzing market trends, evaluating supply and demand dynamics, and assessing competitive landscapes. By gathering and interpreting data, you’ll provide actionable insights to drive decision-making processes for EMGF and its Member Countries.Key Responsibilities:

• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and interpret natural gas market data, including production, consumption, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics from various sources. Stay updated on market trends through industry publications, reports, and internal assessments.
• Utilize Data Analysis Tools: Extract meaningful insights from large databases using data analysis tools and software. Bring a quantitative approach to market analysis and forecasting.
• Market Research: Conduct detailed research and analysis on upstream and downstream gas operations. Evaluate market size, growth potential, and identify new opportunities. Contribute to market research studies and propose research projects for third-party execution.
• Forecasting and Trend Analysis: Utilize statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict market trends, demand, pricing, and supply patterns. Monitor price volatility and perform technical analysis to initiate trade based on historic trends and current market factors.
• Provide Market Reports: Prepare comprehensive market reports, including regular updates and in-depth analysis, for EMGF and Member Countries. Draft the EMGF Annual Report highlighting progress and providing high-level market analysis.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Assess potential risks and uncertainties in the natural gas market. Provide recommendations to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities related to political, regulatory, environmental, and economic factors.
• Collaborate with Internal Teams: Assist in the Long-term Strategy Review process and provide recommendations for strategy updates. Contribute to developing the Annual Action Plan and collaborate with the Policy Development function to develop the Advocacy Plan.
• Perform Other Related Duties: Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Secretary-General and the Strategy and Policy Development Head.

Ideal Profile

• B.S. Degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar role in an international organization.
• Extensive knowledge of the oil and gas industry, particularly natural gas markets.
• Proven experience in conducting market research, quantitative analysis, and developing detailed market reports.
• Highly advanced computer skills.
• Highly advanced English language proficiency.
