This role is based in the Lisbon area.

The position
As a Medical Manager, you will lead the Medical Affairs strategy within the Diabetes type 1 and type 2 portfolio and pipeline, focusing on Insulins, GLP-1, and smart insulin pens, playing a critical role in advancing our scientific communication strategy and disseminating key insights to relevant stakeholders.
You will be our therapeutic area & pipeline expert and a leading partner in the generation, interpretation, and communication of medical and scientific data among internal and external stakeholders (KOLs, HCPs and other influencers).
Moreover, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Portuguese affiliate is equipped and trained to deliver the best possible scientific interactions with the external scientific community.

As part of your key responsibilities:

-Provide medical guidance to the Diabetes Brand Team, ensuring the development and execution of impactful and high-quality scientific education and capacitation activities.
-Partner with Market Access to accelerate patient access to innovative medicines.
-Establish trust-based and partnership-oriented relations with leading Diabetes Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Scientific Societies.
-Ensure compliance with industry requirements, including the APIFARMA code of practice, and the communication and publication of scientific data according to guidelines.
 

Qualifications
You are either a Medical Doctor, preferably with a specialization in Endocrinology or Internal Medicine. Alternatively, a University Degree in Life Sciences is required. PhD or MBA is a plus. 

To be successful in this role, you have:

-At least 3 years of professional experience in Diabetes and/or Cardiovascular Disease, either in clinical care or in Medical Affairs.
-Strong knowledge of clinical/health data and scientific communication
-Strong project management skills.
-Understanding of the specificities and nuances of the Portuguese local healthcare infrastructure gained from experience.
-Fluency in Portuguese and English is a must.
-Residency within the Lisbon area.
