Our client is an established main contractor working across Europe specialising in the delivery of Data Centre construction projects on behalf of global blue-chip clients. They offer a full turnkey service for their clients from design, construction, and handover across the full range of CSA (civil, structural, architectural), MEP (mechanical and electrical) and commissioning works.The need now exists for an experienced MEP Commercial Manager for new build Hyper-Scale Data Centre projects in Groningen, Netherlands. As MEP Commercial Manager you will lead all commercial, contractual, and cost management aspects of MEP works on high-value data centre projects ensuring financial and contractual oversight from pre-construction through to final handover.Key Responsibilities & Requirements:Reporting to Project Commercial Director, you will develop, manage, and control project budgets for MEP packages at circa €200m ensuring that financial targets are met and prepare accurate and complete financial reports, highlighting any issues and recommending effective solutions where necessary.Work closely with Senior Project Manager in developing, monitoring, and managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports ensuring accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and collection of payments.Lead the MEP procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation of terms, and contract award ensuring that all goods and services are procured at the best value while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for clients and stakeholders maintaining strong relationships, ensuring client satisfaction, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.Provide accurate financial forecasting, cash flow projections, and reporting to senior management.Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, contract managers, and cost controllers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.Ensure that all commercial activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.Oversee the financial closeout of projects, ensuring that all final accounts, invoices, and payments are settled.Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management and membership of a professional institution such as RICS or similar is desirable.6+ years of experience in a commercial role within construction/engineering, preferably within Data Centre & main contractor projects.Strong knowledge of contract law, construction contracts and commercial risk management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial data, identify risks, and make informed decisions to maximise profitability.Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships, negotiate contracts, and resolve disputes effectively.The ideal candidate is eligible to work in the Netherlands.
