Within the European McCain Team, the primary role of the Reliability Manager is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. Towards this end, the incumbent will define and coordinate our maintenance excellence program on Lubrication, Condition Inspection and Continuous Improvment for Maintenance with the view to improve uptime, optimize the equipment lifecycle, ongoing improvements in plant equipment reliability, employing lean strategies towards zero waste, total employee engagement, maintenance cost improvements and realizing equipment capability. This will be achieved whilst complying with all local, international and McCain statutory requirements for safety and food safety. The incumbent will work closely with the site Maintenance Manager to further improve and refine the approach toward equipment reliability.

Missions:

General Responsibilities

• Works with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The reliability engineer is responsible for adhering to the life cycle asset management process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.
• Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
• Participates in the final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
• Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems.

Safety

• Assist in the development of Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and Standard Maintenance Procedures that are in support of any safety initiatives of the operating departments.

Training and Development

• Trains maintenance and operation employees to expected Reliability Centered Maintenance practices

Cost

• Track production losses and abnormally high maintenance cost assets, then find ways to reduce those losses or high costs. Develops a plan to eliminate or reduce losses through root-cause analysis, obtains approval of the plan and facilitates the implementation.
• Attends plant/department cost meetings and assists operating department managers by providing cost data as it relates to equipment availability and cost saving initiatives
• Makes recommendations for replacement parts or new purchases to be included in the annual maintenance budget based on delay analysis and projected equipment life cycle

Education, working experience and skills:

• Master’s degree in Engineering preferable in mechanical, electrical or electronic fields.
• Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge and experience of condition inspection techniques and test equipment.
• Proven ability to develop and execute reliability improvement strategies and plans.
• Applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices and principles.
• An innovative and practical approach to problem solving and the ability to initiate action.
• Computer literacy in MS Office, SAP or similar and MicroStrategy.
• Data processing and analytics Financial knowledges, Analytics, statistics Project design & project management
• Communication and Leadership Excellent oral and written communications skills and interpersonal skills and ability to influence.
• Fluent in English
