The future looks like you
With over 1,300 stores in 17 European countries and more than 25,000 employees, C&A is one of the leading fashion retailers in Europe. Every day, C&A welcomes millions of visitors to its stores and online shop. We offer durable fashion at affordable prices – for many instead of a few. With over 180 years of experience, we continuously modernize ourselves to become a true omnichannel retailer.
As a Strategy Engineer within C&A’s Data & Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering the frontend experience of our One C&A Analytical Platform. Built on (Micro)Strategy, this platform empowers teams across Europe to access actionable insights, make data-driven decisions, and uncover value in every corner of the business.
You will transform complex data into intuitive, high-performance dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics solutions that are both scalable and user-friendly. Your contributions will ensure that business users – from store managers to senior leaders – have the data they need, when and how they need it.
If you’re passionate about data storytelling, frontend performance, and building tools that drive real-world impact, this is your chance to help shape the analytical future of C&A.
Your responsibilities
-Analyze complex BI and analytics requirements across multiple business domains in close collaboration with product management and business stakeholders
-Independently design, develop, and deliver end-to-end reporting and dashboarding solutions using Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), ensuring scalability, performance, and usability
-Build and maintain schema objects (attributes, facts, hierarchies) and application objects (metrics, filters, prompts, dossiers, reports) within the Strategy environment
-Ensure data model consistency and support documentation for reusability and data governance compliance
-Participate actively in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives) and continuously contribute to iterative product improvement
-Conduct performance tuning and troubleshoot issues in Strategy reports and backend queries
What you bring
-You have successfully completed a degree in information technology, business informatics or economics, have a comparable education or have relevant professional experience
-You have at least 5 years’ experience in the business intelligence environment with Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) at a senior level
-You are proficient in designing and developing schema objects (attributes, facts, hierarchies) and application objects (metrics, filters, prompts, documents, dossiers, reports) in Strategy
-You can read and interpret complex SQL generated by Strategy and debug performance issues, identifying sources of errors and eliminating them efficiently
-You have advanced SQL programming skills and hands-on experience with Snowflake, including working with views, UDFs, and performance tuning
-You are experienced in performance optimization of BI solutions, including intelligent cube design and caching strategies
-You have worked with REST APIs and SDKs for Strategy automation and integration use cases
-You are familiar with data modeling best practices, especially in dimensional modeling for analytical solutions
-You have practical experience with version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines for BI solution deployments
-You have already gained practical experience in the field of agile working methods (e.g. SCRUM or Kanban)
-You are highly motivated and strive to provide your colleagues and customers with data and knowledge
-You work independently and proactively, are empathetic, able to deal with conflict and have organizational skills and assertiveness
-Fluent English skills, German is an asset

This is an opportunity for you to join us on a truly exciting transformation journey, where you’ll be able to leave footprints that last and contribute significantly to our vision.
