Muslim Aid is a UK faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict, or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

Established in 1985, Muslim Aid has facilitated the engagement of the British Muslim and non-Muslim community in support of its work in a variety of ways. Over the years, its humanitarian work has included responses to major crises around the world including, famine in East Africa, earthquakes and flooding in Pakistan and Bangladesh as well as conflicts in Syria and Yemen.

We place strong emphasis on long-term development projects that build the capacity of local people to help themselves. In addition to the 5 country offices worldwide we also work with multiple partner offices focusing on sustainable Development Programmes and providing humanitarian relief during times of crisis.

Summary of the role:

The Middle East Programme Manager will oversee and enhance the development, implementation, and evaluation of all projects in the Middle East, with a particular focus on Palestine. This role is critical in leading strategic initiatives, furthering significant partnerships, and ensuring the achievement of organisational goals within the region.

About the Role:

  1. Strategically lead and manage the programme development and operations across the Middle East, with special attention to Palestinian projects.
  2. Foster and maintain strong relationships with governmental and non-governmental partners, donors, and other stakeholders to maximize impact and sustainability in Palestine.
  3. Provide expert analysis and adaptation to the changing political and socio-economic landscapes, particularly in Palestine.
  4. Support the capacity development of partner organisations where necessary.
  5. Collaborate with the MEAL unit on detailed Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of all regional projects, ensuring particular focus on the outcomes and impacts within Palestine Conduct
  6. Work collaboratively with the partnership unit and partner organisations to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Master’s degree in International Development, Political Science, Middle Eastern Studies, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience of at least five years managing programmes in the Middle East, with significant work focusing on Palestine.
  3. Expertise in international relations and development issues specific to the Middle East, particularly Palestine.
  4. Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of development a collaborative and productive work environment.
  5. Excellent diplomatic and negotiation skills, able to effectively manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  6. Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
