Our client, a multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products, is looking for a Mobile Developer/Technical Writer-Developer Docs.Initial 12 month contract, with a view to longer term work.This work is 100% remote- based in Ireland or United Kingdom.Responsibilities:Maintaining and writing new developer documentationServing as copyeditor for documentation contributionsTesting / dogfooding APIs in order to better author contentWorking with Engineering teams in London to understand new featuresSkills/Qualifications:5+ years Android/mobile development + some TW experienceTechnical aptitude with the ability to code in Java, Kotlin, Jetpack ComposeAbility to prioritize and manage your own work with minimal oversightProficiency with HTML, XML, Markdown, Jinja, Linux, and GitHub, which means:You can author a document solely in HTML, XML, or MarkdownYou can use dynamic Jinja variables, filters, and macros inline with static contentYou can fork GitHub repos and maintain them on a local machine, create and review pull requests, and manage issuesYou can use the Linux command line to install and update packages, run scripts, and manipulate filesAbility to design and implement single-sourced reusable content, such as in DITAFamiliarity with open source projects such as Chromium and AndroidAndroid development experience, or ability to use Android Studio and test unreleased apps, a plusAbout BárdBárd is an award-winning, global technical writing consultancy that’s known for its expertise, the quality of its technical writing, its focus on partnership, and the human approach we bring to everything we do.Founded in 1999, we’re the go-to experts for the technical sector in turning complex jargon into clear, engaging content that makes helps our clients create meaningful connections with their audiences.
