This is the role
-Use computer modelling to support application development within Eastman’s interlayer business and interlayer final application, leading to an optimization of the material properties and/or the interlayer structure. Application targets include acoustical performance, stiffness, impact behaviour, thermal and optical properties both on the component and the system level.
-Use modelling techniques to support project teams targetting to improve the quality and the capacity of both the resin production and extrusion plants.
-Engage across the organizations and collaborate with other research and application functions and business units to identify key unmet needs of targeted customers.
-Translate the identified needs into well-defined technical criteria for planning and execution of scientific projects 
-Development and contribution to meeting project deliverables, individually and in team settings.
-Communication of results through effective written documentation and oral presentations
 

This is what you bring

•    PhD Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or other relevant field of study. All career levels will be considered for this role.
•    Expertise in mechanical modeling and simulation. 
•    Expertise in material characterization is also desired.
•    Broad background in structure/property relationships. 
•    Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
•    High level of initiative, with ability to work individually and in teams.
•    Experience with experimental design, data analysis and statistical tools.
